Irene Logan was the winner of the maiden edition of stars of the Future in 2006 and was declared an international Music Star. In her music career, she has won an award for the Best Female Vocal Performance for the debut with Jane "baby" in the 2008 Ghana Music Awards. They were also nominated for the 2008 Kora Award and Channel O Music Video Awards.
She is an ambassador for Telecommunications Giant, Glo, and a goodwill advocate for the UNHCR in Ghana.

FAREWELL NELSON ROLIHLAHLA MANDELA

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (18 July 1918 – 5 December 2013) was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and politician who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the first black South African to hold the office, and the first elected in a fully representative, multiracial election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalized racism, poverty and inequality, and fostering racial reconciliation. He died at his home in Johannesburg following an lung infection since June 2013.

Mandela was one the world’s greatest Icon and is known to be celebrated all over the world. To millions, he is seen as a father, a friend, helper and an inspiration. He is driven by charisma and determination which wasn’t changed even after spending twenty five years behind bars. He is indeed a role model to all and has lead Africa, especially South Africa to one of the greatest heights which many saw as unachievable.

BIZZY SALIFU - GHANA'S NEXT FUSE ODG

Belgium Based Ghanaian Artist, Bizzy Salifu is said to have been making Ghana proud with his music in Belgium will be making some appearances this December in Accra.

21 years old Bismark Salifu, popularly known as Bizzy Salifu is a musician, songwriter and performer born in the Germany but spent most part of his life in Belgium.  The Belgium musician of a Ghanaian descent is not only an afro beat artist but also a creative music artist he focuses on different types of genres of music.

Bizzy Salifu had his first studio recording experience was in 2006 at Steven Jackson Studio, where he recorded ‘Let haters Talk’ and ‘6mc’s’. His first mix tape ‘New in the Game’ was released in 2010. After getting lots of motivation from family, friends and fans, he decided concentrate more in releasing good music.  Bizzy salifu’s first performance was in 2007.

Bizzy Salifu was the opening act for Ryan Leslie’s show that took place on October this year in Brussels; he made the crowd go wild with his performance.

Ryan Leslie is an American record producer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and rapper from Washington, D.C.

Bizzy Salifu went fully into music in 2011 and since then released so many songs such as

‘Take you’ ft EL, ‘Don’t Go’ ft Stay Jay, ‘2purple’ ft Redhead and others which have been on high demand by the public. This proves that Bizzy Salifu has really gone far in his music career and is still pushing for more. He looks forward to doing more collaboration with R2bees, Sarkodie, etc just to mention a few. LEBANESE SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT BY NIGERIAN HIGH COURT

Nigeria's Federal High Court has sentenced a Nigerian-Lebanese, Talal Ahmed Rodah accused of belonging to Hezbollah to two terms of life imprisonment for an arms cache hidden in a concrete bunker under a home in the country's troubled north.

Talal Roda was one of the three Lebanese men arrested in May 2013 for unlawful import and illegal possession of prohibited firearms. Mr Roda was arrested after a large cache of arms was found in a bunker during a raid on his residence. He was found guilty of all 5 counts of illegal possession of weapons and conspiracy.

Two other men, Mustapha Fawaz, the owner Amigo Supermarket in Abuja and Abdallah Tahini, who were also charged with possession of illegal weapons. The three had been accused of plotting attacks against Western and Israeli targets for the Lebanese Shiite Muslim Hezbollah militia.

Judge Adeniyi Ademola Adetokunbo freed two other Nigerian-Lebanese, Mustapha Fawaz and Abdallah Thahini, for lack of evidence. The judge said there was no evidence they received terrorist training and noted it is not illegal to belong to Hezbollah in Nigeria.

Former Ghanaian international footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey has revealed that he recently found out that all three children he had with his wife of almost 20 years are not his biological children. He accuses Fashion Designer/Actor and one of two Ghana representatives at this year’s Big Brother Africa reality television show, Elikem Kumordzi for having an affair with his wife and being the father of the three kids. He made the shocking revelation in a radio interviewed when asked why he was divorcing his wife.

“...I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know that they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I’m pleading, because it is a legal issue I don’t want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years of marriage. We had five children but two passed away so we were left with only 3 and they are not mine" The former Aston Villa player told reporters

Elikem Kumordzi, has denied ever having an affair with ex Black Stars player Odartey Lamptey’s wife, Gloria. He’s flatly rejected the claims, suggesting the equation doesn’t add up, and that those spreading the rumors are “fools”.
Elikem who is currently in Namibia, has broken his silence barely twenty fours after Lamptey went public over his wife’s infidelity of some 20 years.

“So fools. Do the math. Even if I was with sam1 for 5 years how am I the father of a 10yr old. Kwasia. means I was 15. Den am gangster. Lmao.”

“Father of someones children?? That ABEIKU SANTANA is doing his job. Its how he feeds his family,” he added.

In a Friday morning rant, he went on further to suggest he’s never heard of the name Odartey lamptey, saying he was for the first time going to google him today.

Kumordzi’s denial comes after several fingers were pointed at him, and some other persons including a former teammate of Mr. Lamptey, as fathers of the children.


Meanwhile, Gloria Lamptey  is claiming that it was Lamptey who suggested they use artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile. A claim Lamptey denies.
A close friend of the former Anderlecht footballer said he'd on several occasions caught his wife cheating on him but stayed with her because of his love for her and the businesses they own together.

"YOU CAN'T COMPARE D'BANJ'S SUCCESS TO MINE" - REGGIE ROCKSTONE

According to Joyonline, Hiplife Grandpapa and son of legendary Fashion designer, Ricky 'Ricci' Osei (Saint Osei), Reggie Rockstone replied a question by host of Good Evening Ghana Paul Adom Otchere who wanted to know why despite his fame in music,he has not achieved much as some Nigerian artiste like D'banj have done.

"Why should D'banj be more successful than you internationally?" the host asked on last Thursday's show.

Although Rockstone acknowledged that Nigerian music is ahead of Ghana, he said it doesn't have to mean their musicians are more successful than him.

Reggie believes an entertainers success must not be merely seen in an artiste's global reach or the amount of money he has.

"What is your definition of success?", Reggie responded in his cool, relaxed fashion.

"Cos D'banj has two more cars than me? Not really. They got two books written about me..there is a whole documentary about me", Rockstone pointed out.

Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D'banj is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, harmonica player, and businessman. He has won several music awards including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009 and BET Awards of 2011 for Best International Act: Africa.
D'banj is currently best known internationally for his 2012 summer hit "Oliver Twist", an uptempo dance fusion of Afro-Beats and electronic dance music that topped the African charts 2011 and was a top 10 hit in the UK singles chart in 2012 reaching #2 on the UK R&B chart.

Reggie explains that schools in America read his book titled "Living the Hiplife: Celebrity and Entrepreneurship in Ghanaian Popular Music."

Reggie Rockstone, a 2004 Kora Award winner, did not talk about the other book but said students in American universities study his work.
He continued that D'banj have not added any thing unique to his music.

"D'banj didn't create what I do.There is no style that is called D'banj" he said.

He said the Nigerian musician "probably" drew inspiration from Ghana's hiplife genre and 2face, another popular Nigerian star acknowledges Reggie's influence in his music.
The popular Ghanaian music icon said he doesn't have to be popular than D'banj just because he started the hiplife movement.
Using a twi proverb "man was born to play his part, not to doing everything", he said everybody must add to what he comes to meet.
Hiplife is a popular music genre in Ghana that mixes hip-hop beatmaking and rap with highlife music, proverbial speech, and Akan storytelling.

Reginald Osei is a rapper of Ghananian descent, born in United Kingdom but lived his early years in the United Kingdom. He has been living in Ghana continuously since he pioneered the Hip-Life movement in 1994. He pioneered the Hiplife art form and has played an important role in the development of this uniquely African genre in Ghana's capital Accra.
In 2004, Rockstone won the Kora Award for the Best African Video and he performed in front of a 50,000 person crowd in Ghana, together with Shaggy.

LATVIA'S PRIME MINISTER RESIGNS AFTER SUPERMARKET DISASTER

The Prime Minister of Latvia, Valdis Dombrovskis, resigned today Wednesday November 27th after saying he is politically responsible for the collapse of a supermarket roof that killed 54 people and wounded at least 40 others last week, the Associated Press reports. He was the longest serving prime minister in the history of the Baltic state (2009 - 2013) and the resignation throws the country into political turmoil just over a month before Latvia joins the eurozone.

The collapse of the supermarket roof last week in Riga sent shock waves through the former Soviet republic which joined the EU nearly a decade ago. At least 54 were killed and over 40 injured.
The government came under criticism after the tragedy and police have launched a criminal investigation reportedly focusing on the construction of the building.
Local media sources said workers had been building a roof garden on the single-storey building which is on the outskirts of the capital Riga.

Three Days to 10th Annual Channel O Music Award 2013 - Kaakie, EL and others

The organizers of Channel O Music Award are preparing to honor Africa's Musicians to a live show.
The event is set to take place this Saturday, 30 November 20:00 at Walter Sisulu Square, in Kliptown Soweto.

This year's event will be hosted by Naeto C from Nigeria and AKA from South Africa. Among those taking to the stage on Saturday night will be Cassper Nyovest featuring Okmalumkooklat, Burna Boy, The Soil, Khuli Chana, Victoria Kimani, Buffalo Souljah, Wizkid, Aka featuring Da L.E.S., KCee, Lizha James, and Mafikizolo. Some of which are already in Soweto for the rehearsals.

The 10th Annual Channel O Africa Music Awards will be broadcast live on Channel O at 20:00, giving music fans across the continent the chance to be part of the highs, the lows, the red-carpet glamor, the drama and the joy as the awards unfold in Soweto.



The only category not voted by Channel O viewers is the Special Recognition, which this year is being awarded to Nigerian R&B duo P-Square.
Twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, are being honoured for their significant artistic contributions to music, which have helped place African music and its artists firmly on international stages. Akon Denies Discriminating Against Black Skinned Girls in Ghana

Akon replied to a rumour posted last week by FashionGhana.com,about he and Wizkid requesting for only light-skinned models and refusing dark-skinned ones from appearing in their music video. According to Akon the report is absolutely false.

AWWWW...SHATTA WALE'S WAS ILL BEFORE GUINNESS ERUPTION CONCERT

Ok! Shatta Wale blames his not so impressive performance at the Guiness Eruption concert on his illness. According to his manager, he was discharged from Nyaho Clinic in Accra where he was advised to take a two weeks resting period. But the Ghanaian acclaimed 'king of dancehall' did not want to disappoint his fans so he went straight to the stadium from the hospital. He was not able to perform good enough to compete with Samini, but he tried his best and sang a few songs.

“Well, we decided to keep it off the public eye that is why we have not spoken about it. But it is true. He was given as much as six drips that day and if you watch the videos, you would see the plasters used in covering the string holes on his body. Shatta was seriously ill that night but we were afraid the crowd may go haywire if he does not turn up. It was his father himself who went for him from Nyaho Clinic, got him dressed up and then straight to the concert,” Shatta’s manager said

Lorrencia Nkrumah Wins Jury's Special Prize in Radio for Peace Building

Lorrencia Nkrumah who was recently a Business Reporter at Accra based Citi FM, Was on the 19th of November awarded winner of the Jury Special Prize in Radio for Peace Building. The joyful event was held in Kigali, Rawanda and was organized by an international NGO Search for Common Ground. The sole purpose of this award was to recognize African journalists for their high quality radio programs and to also encourge professionalism among media practitioners.

Commenting on Lorrencia's award,the jury said, "The winning programme dubbed, "Children of the North" discusses the state of schools in Ghana. It showcases the education system from different perspectives, from schools that are progressing well to those that are unfortunately lagging behind"

The Jury was also impressed by the quality of the programme and praised it for its inclusive approach of investigating key players in the education system. Lorrencia expressed how honored she was for receiving the award and that it will inspire her to do more whiles bringing change to her community.

Kanye explained what happened during a radio interview yesterday, he said LV vice president Yves Carcelle refused to meet with him recently in Paris when he made a request to see him.

The FIFA World Cup just arrived Ghana at the Kotoka International Airport as scheduled in its world tour, organized by Federation Internationale

The trophy will be displayed tomorrow, November 27th at Accra International Conference Centre. This will give all football fans the opportunity to see, record and take pictures of the real World Cup Trophy. SAMINI AND SHATTA WALE ON ONE STAGE - GUINNESS ERUPTION

During the Guinness Eruption Concert at the Accra sports Stadium, Samini got the crowd screaming with his 'LEGENDARY' performance. Shatta Wale on the other hand performed well but ended up extending his issues with Samini to the stage. Although there has been an on-going controversy between these two artists, their fans didn't expect it to be displayed on stage.

Samini according to most people acted matured by not letting the whole issue out on stage, this left him with lots of praises from his fans on twitter this morning. Shatta Wale responded to this by saying he received 3,000 dollars from his father for an outstanding performance and dissed his haters.

Guinness Eruption was awesome

After months of waiting and preparations, The Guinness eruption was successfully ended with amazing and mind blowing performances from WizKid, Akon, Shatta Wale, EL, Samini, other impressive artists and feed live on 91.9 FM.
The venue was filled up, lots of traffic along the stadium road because excited Ghanaian came to cheer and witness the show. Although so many people couldn't enter because they didn't have tickets.  Overall the event was one to remember. KUDOS to Guinness and Chater House.
